Badia a Coltibuono Badia a Coltibuono is the first wine resort in Chianti, offering a truly unique experience in the historic atmosphere of a 1000 years old abbey and farm. Guests can rest and relax in the magnificent garden in Italian style garden or, during summer, around the large open-air swimming pool. At 650 metres above sea level, summers are temperate and the villa is naturally cool in the evenings.

If cancelled or modified up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled or modified up to 1 day before date of arrival, 50 percent of all nights will be charged. If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

All children are welcome. All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing beds. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All older children or adults are charged EUR 30 per night per person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Badia a Coltibuono has 8 double guest bedrooms all with ensuite bathroom. Three of these are more spacious with views spanning the Valdarno valley and 5 rooms with views over the magnificent renaissance gardens. Each room has it's own unique charm, in décor and style reflecting the elegance of the surroundings.

Food & beverage

Situated in the original but refurbished stables, and with elegant contemporary flair, the restaurant's atmosphere is warm and welcoming, while the surrounding garden enhances the overall mood with a touch of romance. During the hotter months meals are served outdoors under a bower of climbing roses and wisteria. Here the gourmet can savour the true aroma and flavour of the Chianti region.
