Sant'Andrea in Percussina - Chianti

Sant Andrea in Percussina

This village is part of the municipality of San Casciano, and can be reached through the old Cassia road following the direction to Florence. The fortune of this tiny village is bound to one of its illustrious inhabitants: in this place, in fact, Niccolò Machiavelli lived his last years in exile. Immersed in the vineyards looking over the entire Florence valley, the Florentine politician spent his days between fields and inns, and it was exactly in this place, during the nights spent in his studio, that he wrote his masterpiece “De principatibus”.
A small museum dedicated to Macchiavelli has been realized in the nearby village of Villa Bossi-Pucci.
